This is a song that never quite got off the ground with Lo And The Magnetics, though we were getting close. The lyrical idea for the track came about from a conversation I had with Mike Gasselsdorfer. It was followed up by an incident that occurred at Café Campus in Montreal that night which helped fill in the blanks. Musically, Dan Meier suggested we do more material in the vein of Tachée which was off of the band's record, A Part.
lyrics
All Machine
All you young lovers
Watch and beware
Someone's in trouble
Someone is scared
He's just a little drunk and she's all upset
Tensing muscles' automatic
Raise your voice above the static
You're almost human
You're all machine
All machine
The girls are all laughing
Their mouths are on fire
The blame they are throwing
Was meant to inspire
The temperature's rising, she forces a smile
Tensing muscles' automatic
Raise your voice above the static
You're almost human
You're all machine
All machine
She's walking out and he says, "but I'm at my best"
Tensing muscles' automatic
Raise your voice above the static
You're almost human
You're all machine
All machine

The only thing that stops me from comparing this to Toots & The Maytals is the perfection and precision of the Delegators’ musicianship and Janet’s vocals. marc_ian
