Song: This was written with Lo in mind to sing, though I was having trouble completing the full lyric. I contacted Emma-Lee about helping me finish the song because I thought that she'd find it easy to dig into material with these changes, but our meeting never materialized. When Lo dropped by for a second time (while finishing the album), we decided to record some more songs with the idea of expanding on the original idea of making an EP. It was early morning when I sat down to finish the lyrics just in time for breakfast. Thankfully it just poured out.
Recording: For this song, I created a drum track with kick/ tambourine hits using soft mallets and a second track of sticks on kick drum rim. Looking for some textures that were a bit more dynamic I asked Mike G. to record a drum track on his cell phone (this along with I Know What I've Got Got). All the hihat work on the left side is his kit filtered through a narrow band of EQ (which is mostly what the cell let come through with a little help from me).

The only thing that stops me from comparing this to Toots & The Maytals is the perfection and precision of the Delegators’ musicianship and Janet’s vocals. marc_ian
