A song about the afterlife. Something I know nothing about, but I can imagine... I had the chance to play this song a number of times with Heavy Generator and some parts have been retooled from that arrangement. In particular the main harmony vocal is something that Gord Light sang. So thank you, Gord. And all the other Generators.
lyrics
Dead Surfer's Lament
I'm still craving what I lost
Down in the undertow
I'm still waiting
For something I never had
Something that I'll never know
It's on the tip of my tongue
Like some forgotten movie star
Can't quite remember who you are
What we were is so damn far away
Now that I'm gone
Now that I'm here on the other side
I'm stuck in eternity
Counting out time with every
Pop song
Now all ever hear are
Pop songs
Now all ever hear are
Pop songs
Not even a good one
Not even a good one
Not even a good one

The only thing that stops me from comparing this to Toots & The Maytals is the perfection and precision of the Delegators’ musicianship and Janet’s vocals. marc_ian
